Spotlight on Ambassador Cruise Line

Beccy Miller

Who is Ambassador Cruise Line?

Ambassador Cruise Line is a brand-new cruise line and is the first new British cruise line to be launched since 2010. They aim to inspire and delight every guest to enjoy an authentic cruise experience effortlessly, and sustainably. They are an adult-focused line and age-inclusive but primarily aimed at the over-50 market. They do offer multi-generational cruises during the summer months, perfect for the whole family to get away together and with activities to cater for all those on board.

Their small to mid-sized ships offer fascinating itineraries on a classic ship, with great entertainment and speakers onboard to enrich the sailing experience. Ambassador’s staff and crew are amongst the friendliest, and most diverse in the industry and the space-to-guest ratio ensures a relaxed environment.

Where do they sail?

They depart from seven different UK ports; London Tilbury, Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol and Falmouth, which make them a great option for those wanting to avoid Southampton on a no-fly option.

Destinations include the British Isles, the Norwegian Fjords, Greenland, the Arctic and Iceland, plus several short break cruises. In the winter, they will provide a range of exploration-style voyages that sail to the Canaries, Cuba, the Caribbean, Cape Verde and Scandinavia.

There are also a number of iconic voyages including their Inaugural Grand Round the World Cruise, an Amazon & West Indies Adventure, Grand Canada & Greenland Experience, and Christmas & New Year in the West Indies & Dutch Antilles.

Ambience

There are two ships in the Ambassador fleet, Ambition which will be launching in May 2023, and Ambience, their current flagship. Entertainment-wise, there is lots to do onboard. Let your hair down at the Observatory or whet your whistle, in one of the many watering holes, including Raffles Bar, Botanical Lounge, SW19 and The Purple Turtle Pub.

Dining options are plentiful at the Buckingham restaurant or the Borough Market, with plentiful cuisine options, and for those sunny destinations, the gorgeous Alfresco Grill allows you to dine with the wind in your hair. There are some excellent speciality dining choices too, in Saffron, Sea & Grass or the deluxe Chef’s Table, with a gastronomic experience that’s not to be missed.

Card fans will enjoy the Aces & Eights bridge and card room and the Ambassador Casino. Other facilities include Kapoor’s, the onboard crafting studio, Brontë’s library, the shopping galleria, plus a spa & wellness suite, swimming pool, two hot tubs and a large screen for outdoor movies.
